Troy McAlister
Chief Technical Engineer & Founder of MDI
Troy founded McAlister Design Inc. in 1992 and successfully led the business in continual growth and expansion for the past 30 years through the transition to MD&A . Troy has managed hundreds of automation and robotics projects over the years and continues to lead MD&A as an integral member of Management, Sales, and Application Engineering.

Scott Legg
Georgia Sales Engineer
Scott joined the MD&A Sales team in 2015, Scott brings over 25 years of engineering for custom machine design and solution sales experience to MD&A. He has worked as a sales engineer in system integration/custom machinery, vision inspection, and the robotics industry for over 11 years and is now responsible for developing new business for MDI in the southeastern U.S.

Philip Wilson
Applications Engineering Manager
Before joining MD&A, Philip served six years in the Marine Corps as a Communications, Navigation, and Electronic Countermeasures technician on A-6E and EA-6B aircraft. While attending college in 1996, Philip joined MDI as a Controls Engineer. During the following 18 years, Philip was heavily involved in the design, programming, implementation, and project management of many wide-ranging projects. Philip has been in engineering and project management at McAlister Design for over 20 years.

Pam Watson
Electrical Engineering Manager
Pam joined the MD&A team in 2013 as an Electrical Technician. She
earned her degree in Electrical Engineering in 2014 and moved into the role of Electrical Engineer. Pam has completed various job functions at MD&A from electrical purchasing to PLC and Robot programming. Her favorite area of work lies in schematics and drawings. Most recently, she was excited to be promoted to the new role of Electrical Engineering Manager.

Shannon Freeman
Human Resources Manager
Shannon joined the McAlister Design team in 2020. Having worked mostly in the areas of manufacturing, automotive and retail, she brings many years of experience in Benefits Administration, Employment Law and Employee Relations of both small and large business environments. She enjoys providing support to all employees in the organization.


Todd Grothaus
Manufacturing Supervisor
Todd joined McAlister Design in January 2016 to lead the manufacturing group in its next phase of growth. He has 30 years of experience managing the assembly and startup of automated equipment. Todd is responsible for the coordination and transfer of projects from the engineering group to the assembly group. Todd plans and assigns work, monitors project cost and timelines, and maintains a safe working environment in the shop.
Steven Rickett
Advanced Purchasing Agent
Steven returned to MD&A recently and brings with him vast experience in Automation and Fabrication Supply Chain. Steven works diligently to make sure all of the parts needed are purchased timely and at competitive pricing.
